Online Bookings: How to Get More GDS/Online Bookings

If you have joined the GDS Network, but you are finding that your GDS bookings may not be populating as much as you would like them to be, here are a few tips:


1.)  Make your GDS profile more descriptive, exact, well-rounded.  Make sure to describe your rooms, amenities, local attractions, and add images that actually show your property.  

You can load 10 different images on the GDS at no cost.  If you load 11-20 images, it will be a $4.00/month charge.  In our opinion, for about $0.14/day, it is well worth the exposure.  Guests book based on the visual proof.

2.)  If you are located in a heavily saturated hospitality market, you may not be able to be found on any of the major Online Travel Agents (OTAs) within the first 3 pages of their search engine.  A way to compete with these major players in your hospitality market, we would suggest that you look into OTA Contract Rates.

3.)  If you want to target certain markets or populations, we would suggest Negotiated Rates, Multiple Rates, and Corporate Rates.

4.)  If you want to tap into the Trip Advisor and Trip Advisor: Review Express, which enables guests to find you quickly, book, stay, and then write reviews, as in comparison to the hotel version of Yelp.  Click here for more information:
