S920 EMV Wireless Device Troubleshooting

This wireless device has some issues you should be aware of:

 

1) When the device 'updates' and downloads a new 'application' (which occurs whenever card issuing changes happen, which is often) the 'wi-fi' method for connecting needs to be re-set.  Thus, you will have to login to the device and make sure the wi-fi is re-connected.  How will you know when it's connected?  the wi-fi signal (at top) will show in a blue color. If it's not connected, it's a grey color.

Look into your manual or work with your merchant processor to get the wi-fi set properly.

 

2) When not using the device, power the unit down to preserve the battery and power.

 

3) We do not recommend using this device for Kiosks for the reasons that both battery power and wi-fi are less reliable than A/C (active power) and ethernet plugged into the router via a cable.
