What type of rates can be queried via XML and how to set them up?

Because XML developers are not usually as sophisticated as hotel managers or revenue managers about what rates to setup, at what price, and allocate to what channel, we often get asked questions such as 'How does one query a AAA or a Package rate"? when building the XML interface

There are two parts to such a question: 1) how to create a rate, which is detailed here: https://support.bookingcenter.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/51/ ) and then 2) How would one allocate that rate to be used by the front desk, website, GDS, etc... which is detailed here: https://support.bookingcenter.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/205/)?

The hotel manager will know how to do these tasks, and will usually have built and allocated rates for their use already. They can let you know which rates are desires to use, for which Agent queries, and then teh XML developer can query them from an agent call (such as Agent:BC) to get the rate array desired.
