How can I use prepaid vouchers for payment in BookingCenterThere is a solution to accepting a voucher/gift certificate number as a payment type on the BookingCenter booking engine. For this discussion we will use the term voucher to represent a payment type paid ahead of time with no specific booking date. The property can sell the voucher ahead of time either form the property or from a reseller. Voucher numbers sold should be tracked in a separate spreadsheet. When a voucher is redeemed online in the BookingCenter booking engine, the guest places the voucher number in the designated field at the end of the booking process. This number will be displayed under add payment in the members area for management tool Pro customers. The property checks the voucher number against the spreadsheet and marks the voucher number as used. If you only accept vouchers and do not accept credit cards on the website booking engine, you may set the new receipt type as a credit card. This will then display the voucher number on the booking details screen in the members area. To accomplish this the property must set up a new receipt type called voucher and set it to live in the BookingCenter members area. This process will not work on the GDS as the GDS will only accept actual credit cards to guarantee reservations. | |
